The real Mulberry Alexa
If this isn’t the hottest bag of the season, then I’ll stop shopping for a month! The Mulberry Alexa has been seen everywhere, on, of course, the shoulder of Alexa Chung herself, but also on tons of fashionistas all over the world. Or was it really the real Mulberry? Maybe not, as you can find good imitations here and there (check above the version by Baby Says Boutique, or the one by Storets).
It makes me wonder: what makes a bag THE bag of the season? Why this bag and not another? Every season, there’s a new It bag, (from Balenciaga “Motorcycle” to Fendi “Spy” , to Alexander Wang studded bag), and, as different as they all are from each other, they all were best sellers! Maybe a good It bag exactly enhances the spirit of the season. At the moment, Vintage is very popular, and the Mulberry Alexa has that vintage vibe, so maybe that’s it! What do you think? Do you have the bag? Do you think your love for this bag will survive the years? Or maybe you hate that bag, but why?

I love this bag, but my love is only platonic
I don’t have the original neither the imitation… But I think It’s really cool.
For these questions of popularity, I’ve no idea… maybe It’s just because the bag is pretty well done and looks amazing, so that a LOT of people like it… or the vintage feel, as you said… I don’t know.

Plus, it seems to be confortable to wear, large enought to fit everything you need, and It’s casual and not very chic, so it’s perfect to use everyday.
I already order a inspired one =)

Posted 26 Jul 2010 at 4:42 PM ¶I love the bag! Currently fishing for a vintage satchel on ebay, charity shops and car boot sales, as I don’t want any of the imitations. That is a bit of a task, so watch this space
I think that investing in a good quality leather satchel will definitely pay off in the future. This style is classic and as we know, the fashion repeats itself regularly, so Im sure the satchel trend will come back again at some point.
